On the coattails of his son’s 5 year prison sentence, Michael Douglas was spotted out in New York City on Wednesday (April 21).

Dressed in all black with a hat and shades on, the “You, Me and Dupree” actor took a stroll with his pup to pick up the daily newspaper.

On Tuesday, his 31-year-old son, Cameron, was sentenced to 5 years behind bars and ordered to pay $300,000 in fines for intending to distribute drugs, specifically methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as heroin possession.

Prior to his sentencing, a remorseful Cameron read a statement, saying, “I apologize to my family and loved ones for this nightmare and my behavior..to the court for my decisions and actions. I want to be a productive family member and role model for others to get advice, guidance and support and steer them in the right direction.”
